Leon Inc Shares New Single and Releases Debut Album

French-based electronic artist, Leon Inc, has announced the release of his new album, Insert Disc, on 28 April 2017 via Leon Records.

The latest track lifted from the upcoming album, ‘Kepler-62 feat. Nina’, was premiered by Magnetic Mag and was described by them as, “something truly unique in style and sound.” Named after the Kepler-62 star system, this track, through the help of synth beats, makes you feel like you are exploring the galaxy when you listen to it.

‘Kepler-62 feat. NINA’ features a heavy bassline and delicate melodies, blended with the gentle tone of Nina’s vocals. This makes for a single that will get you out on the dance floor, while still making sure the track stands out from the rest. The lyrics tell of someone waiting for their estranged lover to give them a second chance, and praying for the lover to see things from their perspective. All of these elements are tied up with a retro sound, which will take you back to the 80s.

Insert Disc is a perfect example of Leon Inc.’s ability to merge music with art, as the album’s microsite has visuals that complement the music. Leon Inc’s album can be purchased through his website and is available digitally and on a deluxe CD.

Christian Löffler Releases New Max Cooper Remix Via Ki Records

Christian Löffler’s labyrinthine track "Vind", off his latest EP, Mares Remixes Pt1, has been remixed by fellow electronic artist Max Cooper. Löffler aims to merge melancholy and euphoria in his music - a goal which he has certainly achieved. "Vind", along with the other tracks on the original Mare EP, has reached over 3.8 million plays on Spotify and thousands of views on YouTube and Apple Music.

Max Cooper’s style reflects his interest in the natural world, his love of music, and his successful attempts at exploring how the two can intersect. In his 8-minute remix of "Vind", he adds a darker, more brooding tone to the track by incorporating ambient drum sounds and house beats. The layers of the remixed track creates tension that stays true to Löffler’s aim of mixing a somber mood with a happy one, while evoking a sense of a natural, wild landscape.

In the Max Cooper "Vind" remix, he shows his admiration for Löffler by presenting a remix that seeks to respect the original. In doing so, no unnecessary elements are added, but rather the progression is layered and the harmonies are brought forward. “It was one of those tracks that just seemed right to me,” says Loffler. There is no hierarchy of the remix or original being better than each other. They exist side by side, the choice is up to the listener about which one they are in the mood to listen to.

Danish Dream-Pop Duo Sweet Tempest Release New Single

Danish duo Sweet Tempest have been riding a wave of support from a number of high-profile tastemakers for the past few months, and it's in the wake of reviews by publications such as Wonderland, Indie Shuffle and JaJaJa that the EP 'Bones and Machinations' has been gathering support. The latest offering is the single 'Colourful Rain', a pitch-perfect 60s flavour with a spacey, reverb-drenched chorus, a beautiful, delicate refrain and a catchy and wistful feel.

The EP was written, produced and mixed by the duo of Julian Winding and Luna Kira, who also created the soundtrack to the 2016 film The Neon Demon. Composition credits in the bag, the duo have also appeared at high-profile festivals such as VEGA in Copenhagen and performed in support of pop singer Fallulah.

"‘Colourful Rain’ was written in the same way most of our songs are written," say the band. "We sat down and got serious, really went for it and didn't feel what we were making. Then Julian pulled out his mini keyboard and we started improvising in the kitchen. Luna threw some melodies on it, and before we knew it we had a song. It seems that whenever we focus on a particular direction, we hit a wall, but when we decide to relax and just let circumstances sweep us away, we get exactly what we're looking for. The song is about enjoying life to the fullest with a loved one, regardless of whether they exist or not."

Influences include Tom Waits, Beach Boys, Cocteau Twins, Beach House and Au Revoir Simone. They draw inspiration from the adventurous aspects of everyday life to produce expertly-crafted pop music that sways along dreamily, yet contains many emotional nuances, fuelling sharp, sweet feelings of longing and nostalgia.

Nigel Godrich Shares Early Radiohead Notes For 'True Love Waits'

While it's expected that a song goes through different versions and phases before the official final one appears as a release, Radiohead sat on the track 'True Love Waits' for (surely) a record-breaking amount of time before releasing it, twenty years after it was written.

The track is the closer on the band's ninth studio album "A Moon Shaped Pool" released in 2016.

Producer Nigel Godrich has released a nostalgic-looking photo of one of his production notebooks on Twitter, saying "A page from my notebook from recording OKC... old school pre computer editing.... this song didn’t make it anyway ;)"

The band is currently on tour in the United States and Europe. For tickets visit Waste HQ.
